In case you haven't already heard: I am moving to California in April of 2013 -- northern California to be precise.  My new hometown of San Carlos (about 17 miles from San Francisco) has three essential components for living: gourmet dining, my favorite coffee place, and, of course, a guitar shop!  I'm looking forward to my new adventure, but I will miss my east coast family of friends/fans.  You have always supported me and lifted me up

On Friday, April 20th, I appeared on a big-time radio show out of Knoxville -- WDVX's Blue Plate Special.  I was honored to be choosen to play on the same stage that has hosted many of my hereos such as Bela Fleck, David WIlcox, Tim O'Brien, The Avett Brothers, Nickel Creek, and many many more!  You can catch videos of live recordings for "Reconciliation" and "Love Seat Wall" on my video page. 

 
 Exciting news! ! ! On Valentine's Day, 2011, Brant W. proposed to his girlfriend Rebecca.  As part of the proposal, Brant wrote lyrics, which documented the events leading up to the proposal, and highlighted his devotion to his sweetheart.  Brant enlisted the services of Raleigh songwriter Jamie Purnell to finish the chords and melody to the tune entitled "A New Day".  To sweeten the presentation of the new original song, Brant contacted The Loreleis, an all-female a cappella group at UNC - Chapel HIll to provide backing vocals. I am honored to be chosen as a finalist for the NC Songwriter Co-op's 13th Annual Songwriting Contest which will be held on Saturday, October 23rd at 8PM at the Artscenter in Carrboro, NC.  Many hopefuls send in their entries, but only eight are invited to play their songs live before a panel of music-industry professionals and compete for the winning spot. I will be opening for Brendan James on 10/8/10 at 8:00 PM at Casbah in Durham.  Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door.  This show is going to be epic!  Local arts paper The Independent has given us the coveted "Indypick" stamp of approval reserved for can't-miss performances.  Brendan has had his music on shows such as ABC's Private Practice and Lifetime's Army Wives. This will be one of those shows where you can say you saw him before he got big and famous -- and that goes for BOTH of us!
